Aims and Scope

The section named Tourism of the journal Current Social Sciences publishes original research articles, letters, reviews/mini-reviews and guest-edited thematic issues on various topics related to communication.


This section is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is devoted to a wide range of sub-fields. Articles of interdisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Basic theoretical developments, applications, case studies, novel approaches and processes, and empirical research are among the topics covered in the papers.


This section is concerned with the planning and management of hospitality and tourism, including tourist experiences and the consequences of those experiences for space/architecture/urban design, communities, economies, environments, leisure and recreation studies and the emerging field of event management. It contains both theoretical and applied research papers and encourages the submission of the results of collaborative research undertaken between academia and industry.
